Before you can play bocce ball, you first need to know the rules. Traditionally, Bocce ball is played on a court that is either made from some naturally hard soil surface or asphalt. Generally, the courts will be 90 feet in length and around 13 feet wide. The balls themselves can be made out of a variety of materials, but the most common are metal or plastic. |

Games are played between either two people or two teams ranging from two players on each team up to four. At random, one team is chosen and given the opportunity to throw the jack, which is a smaller ball, from one end of the court to an area that is 16 feet in length. If the team misses twice, then the other team is able to place the jack anywhere they would like within the zone.

The side that attempted to place the jack first gets to bowl first. Then, the other team bowls. From that point forward, the side that does not have a ball placed closest to the jack gets to bowl. This goes on until one of the sides has used all four of their balls. The other team then bowls all of theirs and the team closest to the jack when all balls are played scores the point.
